The Stowe Tango Music Festival Returns This August
The Stowe Tango Music Festival, the premier tango music festival in the US, will celebrate its 8th anniversary, live and in person, August 19–21, 2022. The festival draws musicians from all over the globe to Stowe, Vermont for its annual celebration of the music, dancing, and culture of Tango.
“We look forward to getting back to in-person festivities this year, for the 8th year of the Stowe Tango Music Festival,” says Hector Del Curto, the Artistic Director of the festival. “More than ever, we know how important it is for everyone to come together in a shared celebration of culture and experiences.”
The Stowe Tango Music Festival’s highlight,
Night of Tango will be performed on Saturday, August 20th at 8:00 pm at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center at Stowe Mountain Resort.
Night of Tango is an electrifying performance of Argentine Tango, featuring a 25 member orchestra and incredible guest tango musicians and dancers from Argentina. After the concert, a Milonga (tango dance party) will be held on stage, open to all audience members!
The Stowe Tango Music Festival is the brainchild of third–generation Argentine bandoneon
player Hector Del Curto, who serves as the festival’s Artistic Director. A 2018 Grammy Award winner, Del Curto is the thread that weaves together traditional and new tango, and he lives, breathes, and edifies the full history of Tango. His wife, cellist Jisoo Ok, co–founder of the Festival, serves as its Executive Director. The Stowe Tango Music Festival is the realization of their vision, which strives to bring the historic knowledge and artistic passion of Tango to everyone.
The Stowe Tango Music Festival is an event of The Argentine Tango Society. Additional support
is provided by: Cody Chevrolet, Northern Lights Lodge, Yellow Turtle, Red Barn Ice Cream, Girakofi, Pall Spera Company, Stowe Reporter, Studio 108, Red Barns Shops and Gale Farm Center.
